This year we have been reminded of God’s incredible grace and love for people. Looking back on every practice that we had as a band and every song that was written, there was one theme that was consistent leading up to the conference and album recording…That was the simple message of the Cross and its Saving Power… As a matter of fact, it was borderline impossible to write on anything other than the Salvation theme. At one point, embarrassing as it sounds, I half jokingly told the band to try to write on something other than the Cross… The very next morning during devotions I was reading 1 Cor. 1:17 which says, “For Christ didn’t send me to baptize, but to preach the Good News—and not with clever speech, for fear that the cross of Christ would lose its power.” Paul reiterates again in 1 Cor. 2:1-2,” When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters, I didn’t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God’s secret plan. For I decided to concentrate only on Jesus Christ and his death on the cross.” The theme for this year was loud and clear, all we needed to do was be obedient and trust what God had laid out in front of us..I believe sometimes we as Christians over think things and make it more complicated than it needs to be… bottom line is that when we as Christians preach and sing about the cross, people get saved!!!

In the end, it was an overwhelming feeling to see thousands of young people rush to the alters to accept Christ into their lives, so many for the first time. Our prayer would be that we all left challenged and inspired to teach and preach the gospel like never before!!! It’s exciting to know that the conference is not the pinnacle and that its just the beginning of what God is going to do this year!!!

Thanks to all of you who came out and worshipped with us at GU2010 “SAVING POWER”!!! What an incredible conference it was!! God moved powerfully and we had a blast…until next time:)

This was such an amazing conference this year! 1000’s of Kids getting saved and set free, healed and delivered from so many things… God’s presence was so real and powerful!

So what now? As a youth staff we are first and foremost committed to building a healthy and thriving local Church youth ministry, Generation Unleashed! Our focus this year is to get all three campuses moving forward, taking our relationship with God to new levels. We will do this by focusing on Small groups, devotions and outreach.

Small groups are a big part of who we are, and they will be the biggest part of who we are becoming! GU Small groups are built around four goals: caring, relating, building and reaching. This spring we are going to be focusing on these as we rebrand our GU small groups to be called… Well you will see in a few weeks. We are going to do a series on “Pursuing God Together” from 2 Tim 2:22 starting Feb 17th. This will be an Epic series that will challenge everyone in GU to be pursuing God together!

Along with this new series we will continue to challenge every young person in GU to use a PURSUE journal and follow the PURSUE daily Bible reading plan. The Word of God will forever be the foundation that we challenge our young people to build on. Along with the Word we will encourage all of GU to daily use the PURSUE prayer card to be a resource to their prayer life. Devotions are the key to personal growth!

Outreach will continue to be a primary focus of GU. Our purpose is “To know God and make Him know!” Outreach on public school campuses and in our communities will remain central to who we are and what we do!

2010 we believe is going to be the best year ever for GU!
