Hey wonderful parents!  Summer is finally here and the sun is out to prove it!  We wanted to take a moment and let you know about some of the exciting things that are happening in Generation Unleashed.

Generation Unleashed Camp:

That’s right Camp is only 2 weeks away!  This years GU summer camp is going to be amazing. Once again we will be at one of the best camp facilities in the USA, Young Life’s Washington Family Ranch. This year’s theme is “Generate”, which means to be the cause of something. We are going to have a great time of worship, word and prayer along with a lot of games and fun. The dates are Aug 19th-23rd and the cost is $325.00.

A Few things you need to know about Camp:

Registration: Go to Generationunleashed.com

1. 1. You need to register online for the City Bible Church Registration (This is done online and let’s us know that your kids are planning on attending camp this year)
2. 2. You need to print, fill out and turn in the young life release form (This is required from young life for insurance, medical, and safety reasons)
3. 3. You need to print out the packing list (This is so you know what to pack… you will not need a Christmas sweater unless that’s how you role…)

Financial Assistance:

If you need help getting you kids to camp this year there are a few things we need you to do.

1. Register online (there is a $20 registration fee) and let us know that you might need help (there is a spot on the online form that you can fill out if you need financial assistance)
2. Talk to your campus youth pastor (Pastor Dylan-Rocky Butte/Pastor Andrew-Mill Plain/Pastor Matt-217)

When and Where:

Drop off:

1. Rocky Butte is where
2. 9:00-10:30am on Friday morning the 19^th is when

Pick up:

1. Rocky Butte is where
2. 5:00-6:00pm on Tuesday night the 23^rd is when

Wednesday nights:

God is doing some great thing in the youth on Wednesday nights.  We have been on a series about the Holy Spirit where we have been focusing on how God wants to be involved in our lives every day, and how out of that relationship we have the power to live life like Jesus.

We have also for the past 4 weeks had our GU Summer Internship going strong.  We have been spending time doing devotion, evangelism, and outreach as well as being part of the leadership for Wednesday nights.  It has been very fruitful and a lot of fun!

Dear GU Parents,

Well summer is finally here and the weather is catching up. We have had a great last couple of months with our discipleship series as well as the “CBC Fun Run”. Our 217, Mill Plain and Rocky Butte campuses have seen so many youth give their lives to Christ as well as get involved in our 222 groups. All in all we are looking forward to continuing our forward moment through summer and into the Fall semester.

On all three campuses we are also having a GU BBQ on July 6th and Aug 3^rd. These BBQ’s will be taking place instead of a GU Wednesday night service and is a great time for the youth to hang out and fellowship. We would also love if you have the opportunity or time to swing by and give us the opportunity to meet you and answer and questions you may have.

We also want to highlight our Summer Internship which is going to be starting on July 12^th and going through to August 18^th.  There also have been lots of questions about the Internship such as ”What if I’m gone for a week on family vacation, or I have to work around my job schedule, can I still do the Summer Internship”? The answer is yes! We made the price low knowing that people will have family vacations or work schedules to deal with. Attached to this letter is a Summer Internship brochure with an application, please fill it out as soon as possible as the Summer Internship is only a week away. With everything that is happening this summer it wouldn’t be complete without our annual GU Summer Camp at Wild Horse Canyon from August 19^th – August 23^rd. Our policy at City Bible Church is that every youth goes to camp. With the cost of camp being $325 we know that many kids will need the opportunity to raise scholarship funds. We provide an avenue for this through the GU Camp Carwash. The carwash packets are available on all three campuses and have all the details you need to raise your camp scholarship. We are encouraging each youth to participate in the carwash which will be held on July 30th from 9am-2pm at Bank of the West on 82nd & Division, as mentioned above the carwash packets can be found at each GU table on all campuses.

GU Camp registration is entirely online with an option of a $20 down payment or the full $325. We are asking that every youth register before requesting scholarships for camp. The last step in registering your youth online is to fill out the attached release form for camp, this is the campsites release form and is require for each youth. Please send back via email or turn into the church office mailboxes #81.

Dear GU parents,

Spring is right around the corner which means plenty of amazing activities are going on at Generation Unleashed!

Our 2011 GU Conference was a huge hit! This year our theme was “Move,” and we were praying, believing and fasting, expecting God to move in and through the young people that attended. Every year it is such a blessing to see our young people come and serve and make this conference a blessing to others, we saw God absolutely rock people’s lives! If you or your young person served at GU 2011, we want to say a big THANK YOU!!

Over the last year we have had record amounts of parents getting involved with Generation Unleashed,  everything from serving on a Wednesday night to preparing food for events to helping out with small groups and administration. We cannot express our thanks for helping out as we partner with you in your youth’s life. If you are not currently involved and would like more information on helping out with Generation Unleashed please call the GU offices or talk to one of the GU Campus Pastors.

Senior Retreat is coming up at the end of April and we want to make sure that every graduating senior has the opportunity to attend this retreat. The location is Sun River Oregon and will be an overnight stay from April 22^nd – April 23^rd. The cost for the retreat is $50 which covers meals and transportation. We encourage High School Seniors to attend the Senior retreat as its an exciting time to come together with their friends, our GU Staff Pastors and have a weekend geared specifically for them. You can sign your student up at GU on Wednesday nights or call the GU offices.
