I’ve been taking this awesome class at Portland Bible College called homiletics, it is basically the study or art of preaching. Today, we broke into groups and wrote a five minute sermon that was to be preached by one of the students in the group, here is what our group came up with.
When it comes to the gifts that God has given us, its not a question of if you are suppose to be a steward, it becomes a question of what kind of steward you will be? We have all been given gifts and talents and what we do with these gifts and talents determines if we have been a good or a bad steward.
“Your faithfulness today will determine your fruitfulness tomorrow!”
What you do or don’t do with what God has entrusted to you will determine the plenty or lack in results that you see from what he gave you.
Consider the story that Jesus told about the talent and how there was a time that the men who were given these talents had to give an account for what they did with what was given to them. There will come a day where we will have to give and account for what has been given us! So how then do we make sure that we are being faithful steward? Here are a few things that will help.
1. Be diligent – make sure to get up early, do your homework, be on time, and always be faithful in the little things!
2. Have a servants heart – use what God has given your to serve others, remember Jesus was a servant and we are called to be like him
3. Have a right perspective – know that if you are faithful in the little things he will entrust you with greater things!
Remember as you are faithful you will be fruitful!
