This year we have been reminded of God’s incredible grace and love for people. Looking back on every practice that we had as a band and every song that was written, there was one theme that was consistent leading up to the conference and album recording…That was the simple message of the Cross and its Saving Power… As a matter of fact, it was borderline impossible to write on anything other than the Salvation theme. At one point, embarrassing as it sounds, I half jokingly told the band to try to write on something other than the Cross… The very next morning during devotions I was reading 1 Cor. 1:17 which says, “For Christ didn’t send me to baptize, but to preach the Good News—and not with clever speech, for fear that the cross of Christ would lose its power.” Paul reiterates again in 1 Cor. 2:1-2,” When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters, I didn’t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God’s secret plan. For I decided to concentrate only on Jesus Christ and his death on the cross.” The theme for this year was loud and clear, all we needed to do was be obedient and trust what God had laid out in front of us..I believe sometimes we as Christians over think things and make it more complicated than it needs to be… bottom line is that when we as Christians preach and sing about the cross, people get saved!!!

In the end, it was an overwhelming feeling to see thousands of young people rush to the alters to accept Christ into their lives, so many for the first time. Our prayer would be that we all left challenged and inspired to teach and preach the gospel like never before!!! It’s exciting to know that the conference is not the pinnacle and that its just the beginning of what God is going to do this year!!!

Thanks to all of you who came out and worshipped with us at GU2010 “SAVING POWER”!!! What an incredible conference it was!! God moved powerfully and we had a blast…until next time:)
